New, old buffet

So excited about my new, old buffet!

I know this great gal who is so talented and has a great eye for furniture that just needs a little somethin' somethin'. You know what I am talking about, right?  I have been looking for a buffet for this wall in my dining area for soooooo long.

Well this dear talented friend found me the perfect piece.  I was so excited.

So I have always thought I would paint it red, when I found " the one".  But,  I pictured it there and red just wasn't right.

I knew it had to be green, olive green.  My friend picked up Anne Sloan Olive Green and went to work.  She called me when it was done and OOOOHHHH BABY!  I ran down to Hobby Lobby for some crystal knobs...

...and there it was...the perfect piece!

Sewing table love

So I was just looking for a small table.  Nothing special just a small table to fit in a little spot I have.  Then I ran upon, in a garage sale, this sewing table.  It was perfect for the spot.  Wasn't exactly looking for a sewing table but it was a great size for this little corner.

It was in bad shape, that's why I got it for $20.  It was brown stain and a little beat up. I just sanded and painted it.  It does have a sewing machine in it and it didn't run until my handyman husband got a hold of it.  So now if I ever get the urge (not likely) to sew something I could use it.

I didn't like how it kinda went up in the front at the bottom and showed the sewing machine a little.  So I put this little burlap skirt on to cover that up.  It is a fun addition to our family room and a conversation piece.
Best of all, I found this typewriter on a garage sale site.  I love old typewriters so I was so excited to get this one.

Trash to Treasure

Hey, just finished a fun project for my daughter.  My mother-in-law has a rental house and this lovely was left behind by the last renter.
It was an armoire. The doors were broken, the back was broken and it was in real bad shape.  We decided to make it a t.v. stand. So we cut off the top, took out the top drawer that was broken, and made a shelf there.  Then replaced the very top of the armoire to the top of the t.v. stand and Wa, La!
Painted it red with sample paint from Home Depot then added a brown glaze on top after a good sanding.
But of course, to finish it off, I ran to the Hob Lob (Hobby Lobby) for these darling knobs.
All finished it cost me $20.  Daughter is so happy with her new t.v. stand.  Love those trash to treasure stories, don't you?
